Te Kaapuia o Te Waoku

Last week Weka Hub headed into Wellington to check out the new Te Kaapuia o Te Waoku education programme at the Wellington Botanical Gardens. The programme supported our Term 1 inquiry learning focus of sustainability and tied in our new learning around Matariki.

We had the most amazing day creating Manu Tukutuku (kites), walking in the rain, riding a double decker bus, and spending the day together with our whanau helpers.

Here are some photos from our day:

Upper Hutt Interschool Cross Country

Weka Hub were out in force today, participating in the Upper Hutt Interschool Cross Country. They were some of the youngest contenders, racing against Yr 3 students. They did so well and we are super proud of them. They ran so fast, it was hard to get a good photo.

Check these blurred pics out!
Above: Addison negotiating her way through the pack.
Above: Thompson pushing out in front.

Above: Brieah check out the competition behind.
Above: Zachary running into the finish.
Above: Leo almost at the end.
Above: Tayla showing determination until the end.

Above: Check out Addison's stride.
Above: Carlos overtaking in the last sprint.

We had lots more children competing.
If you got some good photos, we would love to see them.

Next best basketballer - who will it be?

We are very lucky at Trentham School because we are able to participate in all kinds of things. For the first part of Term 2, we get to practice and get some new skills in basketball!

Here is Room 18 in action today! I think we have some future pro basketballers on our hands.
